These projects, “Who Deserves Better?” for Best Long Video and the BlackWolf Show Home for Best Detached Production Home under 1800 sq. ft., have been recognized for their excellence. These achievements represent milestones that Stranville Living is proud to celebrate—and for good reason. 

CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence

These awards are among the most prestigious recognitions in the residential construction industry in Canada. The CHBA presents these national awards to recognize companies’ excellent performance in home building, renovation, marketing, and community development. With broad categories of awards and numerous players in the housing industry, the competition is cutthroat. Every year, builders and developers across Canada submit their best work, hoping to be recognized for their hard work. Companies of all sizes and regions compete for these awards. The 2025 CHBA National Awards marked a record-breaking competition with over 1000 entries submitted and judged by nearly 300 competent industry experts. The companies that made it to the finalist list are truly deserving and skilled.

We, a locally owned, award-winning company in Lethbridge, Alberta, founded in 2012, have been working hard locally in home building, with a vision to support the betterment of our communities. In the 2025 CHBA National Housing Awards, we proved our skills and competency by making it to the finalist list in two award categories:  

– Best Long Video (45 seconds and longer) – Project: “Who Deserves Better?”  

– Best Detached Production Home under 1800 square feet – Project: “The Blackwolf Show Home” 

2025 Finalist for Best Long Video 

This award is specifically tailored for videos running 45 seconds or longer that highlight a community’s exceptional creativity and storytelling. The video by a local real estate agent, Kurt Hawkins, chronicled the amazing transformation that Stranville orchestrated to help a deserving family, the Molyneux Family. This award-winning video introduces the heartwarming vision behind the project. The Molyneux family consists of two brothers. Dylan, who lives upstairs with his two young children, and Cody, his older brother, who is on the spectrum, lives in the basement. Dylan has faced challenges with substance abuse and mental health over the years that have been difficult for him. But, with the help of friends and family, Dylan has managed to keep his family together and thriving despite these challenges. Still, with all their resources tied up in taking care of each other, it was hard for them to improve the condition of the house they were living in. There was minimal space to walk around, the kitchen was old, the furnace didn’t work, and the bathrooms needed renovation. After putting in all our efforts, our entire team completely transformed not just the main floor of the house but also the basement, where Dylan’s brother, Cody, lived too! Everything from plumbing, electrical, and flooring to renovating two kitchens was done in only 5 days.  Read more about this project and find a complete list of trade partners here.  Stranville Living is grateful that Kurt Hawkins could record all the happenings and that he was able to capture the emotions that the crew and the deserving family felt in the whole process. 2025 Finalist for Best Detached Production Home under 1800 square feet

In addition, Stranville Living was delighted to be chosen to compete for the esteemed title of Best Detached Production Home, showcasing innovative design and functionality in homes under 1,800 square feet with our Blackwolf Show Home. These awards celebrate excellence and inspire future developments in the custom home building field. They scored entries based on project descriptions, images, and other supporting information, such as floor plans included in the submission packages. The Hemsdale floor plan delivered on all of these areas and more.  With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, everyone has a space to call their own. We love the Helmsdale and we are sure you will too.
