The first step!

Walking into the new design center at Stranville Living in Lethbridge, they were welcomed by Corissa, the sales consultant for Copperwood. Corissa loves Copperwood because it is a well-established community in the heart of West Lethbridge known for its vitality and strong community spirit and it shows when she talks about it.  She pointed out that Copperwood residents enjoy amenities such as Coalbanks Elementary School, a Community Garden, and the nearby Crossings commercial area featuring restaurants, retail, and recreation.  Sensing her enthusiasm, they knew that this area was going to fit their family’s needs perfectly. 

The Next Step

They then sat down with Corissa to discuss their specific needs and desires for their new home. They had a clear vision. They needed at least three bedrooms, a minimum of 2 bathrooms and a two-car garage. They also wanted an open-concept kitchen, dining and living room where the whole family could gather. A walk-through pantry and mudroom leading off the garage would be nice for transitioning from a grocery run to meal preparation. They liked the idea of a flex space that they could use for a home office, playroom or media room. The “Addison” was the perfect fit for their family at 1788 sq. feet, three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a bonus room that could be used however they wanted. Their interaction with Corissa, from choosing the right lot to handling all the paperwork, from the offer to purchase to applying for permits, reassured them that they were in good hands with Stranville. 

Third Step 

The exciting part began when they explored the finishes and hardware with Corissa in the design office.  It was so good to be able to touch and feel the choices.  This made them feel even more confident about building a custom home.  They were thrilled by the cabinets that reached the ceiling in one of the show homes they had visited by Stranville and decided to include them in their custom build. They were sure they wanted black door and bathroom hardware, so they eagerly upgraded. Every detail, no matter how small, was a source of excitement, from the colour of the toilet buttons, to the flooring, backsplash, and kitchen sink. Each upgrade was a step towards creating the perfect home they were sure to be happy to live in for years to come, and they were fully engaged in the process. Corissa and the team of interior designers were with them every step of the way, providing valuable advice and guidance along the journey.

Fourth Step

Now, that all the paperwork and appropriate permits have been acquired, the team of builders at Stranville Living began excavating and constructing their custom home. Once the framing was complete and the windows were installed, this was a good time for the clients to walk through the house with Corissa and get a feel for it. Then, all exterior finishes, drywall, and insulation are installed. Interior finishing is next, followed by cabinet, lighting, and flooring installation. After that, it’s time for all final installations, such as mirrors, shower doors, and shelving. This family was getting excited because it was almost time to move in!! 

The Final Step

Ultimately, their custom-built “Addison” had a series of final inspections, and the clients did their final walk-through. They could begin to imagine their family in this wonderful home for many years. At this point, if there were any deficiencies, they were corrected, and another final inspection, clean and finally a certificate of occupancy was issued. But since Stranville wants them to feel confident in their decision long past possession day, Stranville provides a comprehensive post-possession 30-day, one-year, 2-year, 5-, and 10-year warranty and exceptional customer service to ensure their clients are satisfied with their new home now and in the future.
