Did you know Stranville Living Master Builder has been nominated for the 2024 CHBA National Housing Awards? As a leading house-building company in Lethbridge, we undertake every project with a vision to build the houses people deserve in the Lethbridge region. This year, we made it to the finalist list for our two amazing projects, “The Cullen” and “Who Deserve Better?”, under the Best Detached Production Home 2,401 to 2,800 square feet and Best Long Video (45 seconds and longer) categories respectively.

“Who Deserve Better?”, directed and produced by Kurtis Hawkins, touched many hearts and won the BEST LONG VIDEO award at the 2024 CHBA National Awards for its commendable work. But before we dive into this remarkable achievement, it’s important to understand the CHBA National Housing Awards, who they are awarded to, and their significance.

What Are the CHBA National Housing Awards?

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) National Awards for Housing Excellence are among the most prestigious recognitions in the residential construction industry. The CHBA presents these national awards to recognize companies’ excellent performance in various aspects of home building, renovation, marketing, and community development. The CHBA has long supported and promoted the highest standards of excellence.

With broad categories of awards and numerous players in the housing industry, the competition is cutthroat. Every year, builders and developers from across Canada submit their best work, hoping to be recognized for their hard work. These entries include big projects like condominiums and sustainable housing, as well as custom homes and production homes. Companies of all sizes and regions compete for these awards.

The 2024 CHBA National Awards marked a record-breaking competition. The range of entries received this year was worth noting. From small family businesses to big companies, over 900 entries were submitted and judged by nearly 300 competent industry experts. The companies that made it to the finalist list are truly deserving and skilled.

Significance of CHBA National Awards

The CHBA National Awards hold considerable significance in the Canadian residential housing industry. Here’s why:

  • Firstly, being awarded the CHBA National Housing Award signifies the company’s skills and commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Winning against so many other candidates and passing through a rigorous judging process validates that the project that won was the most innovative and deserving of all.
  • This prestigious recognition enhances the brand’s visibility, attracts a new customer base, and increases clients’ confidence in the company.
  • Categories focusing on community development motivate builders to continuously improve and contribute to sustainable practices.
  • These awards promote the adoption of best practices and set high standards across the industry.

Therefore, the CHBA National Awards play a vital role in promoting the best Canadian home building and renovation. They recognize the best talents and give them the attention they deserve.

The open-concept design includes hardwood floors, exposed beams, and natural touches, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The Award-Winning Project and Video

This award-winning video introduces the heartwarming vision behind the project. Stranville Living Master Builder decided to turn a house into a functional and beautiful home for one deserving family. This community outreach initiative was designed to help a local family in need—the Blake Family.

This family of four has been going through a tough time for a year and a half as their three-year-old son, Harrison, is suffering from a rare genetic terminal disorder. This has left Harrison with the inability to move on his own, feed himself, or even speak.

The family wished to give their son a comfortable and safe living environment. However, all their resources are tied up in taking care of their young children, which makes it harder for them to improve the condition of the house they are living in. There is very limited space to walk around, the kitchen is old, the appliances don’t work, and there is no room to pull out a table and eat comfortably.

So, we and our community partners decided to make the Blake family’s home more comfortable and beautiful in one week. After putting in all our efforts, our entire team completely transformed the main floor of the house. Everything from plumbing, electrical, and flooring to changing the kitchen appliances was done in a week. Read more about this project and find a full list of trade partners here.

After all the final touches, the Blake family was welcomed back to their new, comfortable, spacious, and accessible home.

Wrapping Up!

Knowing how prestigious the CHBA National Housing Awards are, we can proudly say that by making it to the finalist list and then winning the 2024 national award for the Best Long Video category has proved to be a monumental moment for the company. But most importantly, our achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the commendable efforts of our dedicated trade and community partners. The materials and time these businesses donated are something we will always be grateful for.

This award-winning and heartwarming video showcases our continuous commitment, along with our trade partners, to community development and building the homes that people deserve in Lethbridge and the Crowsnest Pass. We encourage you to stay up to date with Stranville Living Master Builder and stay tuned for more details on this year’s “Who Deserves Better?” program, which is currently in the planning stages. Exciting developments are on the horizon, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
