Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Journeyman Carpenter or Carpenter Apprentice to join our residential construction team. This role involves a wide range of carpentry and framing tasks for new home builds, including basement framing, deck construction, exterior stairs, and various structural components. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety‑focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basement framing, including walls, partitions, and structural components
  • Build and install decks, exterior stairs, and related framing elements
  • Complete miscellaneous framing tasks required throughout new home construction
  • Assist with installation of interior and exterior doors, blocking, backing, and other rough‑in carpentry
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans
  • Ensure all work meets building codes, company standards, and safety requirements
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other trades to maintain workflow and project timelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support general construction tasks as required throughout the build process

Qualifications:

Journeyman Carpenter

  • Valid Journeyman Carpenter Certification (Red Seal an asset)
  • 3–5+ years of residential framing or carpentry experience
  • Strong understanding of residential building practices and codes

 

Apprentice Carpenter

  • Registered or willing to register as a Carpenter Apprentice
  • Previous construction or framing experience is an asset
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior carpenters
